The Heavy Metal 3D printer is a fast, versatile, heavy duty 3D printer designed for use in everything from small factory's , learning centers,  print farms or as a home use printer. In quiet mode this 3D printer is quiet enough for use in a library, even when printing at maximum speeds. Whether you need quality prints, speed, ease of use or reliability this versatile printer can handle it.

  • Automatic bed leveling inductive sensor.

  • Automatic extrusion temperature control. Nozzle temperature can be automatically controlled to increase or decrease as the volumetric rate of extrusion increases or decreases resulting in better print quality.

  • All plastic components printed in ABS capable of being in a heated enclosure if necessary.

  • Quiet mode allows printing at a barely noticeable sound level. Can be switched on or off via LCD menu.

  • Non quiet standard mode allows printing movements at ultra high speeds when noise level is not a concern.

  • Dual filament run out detection sensors.

Features multiple different printing modes

  - Quiet mode. In this mode the printer motors and high speed movements are barely audible which makes this printer the perfect fit for a quiet office or library. Can be easily switched between standard mode or quiet mode from the built in LCD control.

1 - Single extruder printing using either the left or right extruder.

2 - Dual IDEX extruder printing. Print with two different filaments on a single part. Two colors, or one extruder to print support structure and the other to print the part, or one extruder to print infill and the other to print inner and outer perimeters.

 

3 - Simultaneous dual print mode. Print two of the same part at the same time using both extruders. Can be same filament type or different for each extruder.

 

4 - Simultaneous mirror print mode. Print a left and right version of a single part at the same time using both extruders. Can be same filament type or different for each extruder.

 When a hot end is not printing it is automatically parked over a steel plate which prevents the nozzle from oozing. This improves print quality and reduces the amount of material wasted from needing to prime the nozzle when switching extruders during a print.

 Y and Z Linear rod guide holes are precisely CNC machined after the frame has been welded to achieve accurate alignment of Y and Z axes.

 Corrosion resistant 316L stainless steel 3/8" (9.5mm) diameter linear rods used on all axes

 Bronze bearings with teflon embedded oil particles provide smooth, quiet motion and longevity.

 Open source electronics components means cost effective and easy to update electronics for specific needs.
